What makes a good wedding? This is the perplexing question challenging us over the next few months. Two summers ago we went to a fantastic wedding in the Scottish highlands - on the shore of a loch in a stone ampitheatre where pipers signalled the coming of the bride through the heather and gorse. But Phil has also been to a ceremony where the bride's father keeled over... luckily Rum (phil's nan and nurse for 30 years) was on hand and declared he'd be fine, he just needed some air (he was already dead). Now certainly these would not both be regarded as 'good' weddings but they do have something we are looking for - drama!
We are getting married in a cinema and while this is a romantic choice, as it was the site of our first date (or second, depending on what you count), it also offers Barry Normanesque (for you youngsters he was the Jonathan Ross of the twentieth century... for you Americans he was the tw0-thumbs up Roger Ebert of the old country) hi-jinks and 'do you feel lucky punk' japes. We have full projection facilities, we have state of the art sound, a full tank of gas and sunglasses... and we need to use them. So we are looking for creative people to give us the gift of Pearl and Dean... you know 30 second trailers (we love the ones for local businesses) and forthcoming attractions for before the ceremony. These could be videos or powerpoint, or even movie posters for the lobby. If you have no productional ability - but have ideas, then post them on this site and we will find some way to share them on the day. We also want ideas for music and film clips we could show, so send those in too.
