some actual things

So, if you like giving people actual, tangible things for their weddings, here are some actual things that we would like.



We've been meaning to buy the rubbish bin (wastebasket) at the left here. It's by Simple Human, and it has been available at Robert Dyas and Steamer Trading, but is also available on the web (try John Lewis). It's 38 litres and rectangular (though the 'butterfly model would be fine too), so it would fit just where we want it to fit. (Oh, and it's so romantic!)



Lynne is attracted by the idea of orthopaedic memory foam pillows, like the ones with neck support at this site. Phil is happy with the pillows we've got, but he might be won over if we had two... (That was a convincing pitch, wasn't it?)


We both love just about everything at the Castor and Pollux gallery on the Brighton seafront, and in particular the glass by Michael Anchin, like the vase here. Since everything is one-of-a-kind, it doesn't make sense to pick out a particular one we want now, as it might not still be there by the time you get there. We're thinking about something for our nooks in the living room, so the very tall vases wouldn't really work. Nor would anything blue or grey. But if you know an interesting glassworker elsewhere, we do like that kind of thing--particularly pieces that have uses, rather than being purely decorative.
